Consequences of an Unplanned Estate
You probably would not like what the State of Illinois says about who inherits your estate if you die without saying so yourself. For example, if you die with spouse and children, most people would want the spouse to inherit. But Illinois law gives only one-half to the spouse. The children get the other half.
